Absolutely! While Hubert is based in Manitoba, anyone who is a resident of Canada, excluding Quebec, and over the age of 18 is eligible to open an account with Hubert. Unfortunately, at this time, we cannot offer Hubert services to Quebec residents. Just a heads up that Hubert only offers personal accounts. You cannot open a business or trust account with Hubert.
Hubert has zero transaction fees. Whether you’re making a deposit, transferring funds, setting up a registered account, or making a withdrawal, you won’t be charged a fee!
However, Hubert does charge fees for two things:
- Wire transfers (incoming fee is $8.72 CDN for Canadian wires or $11.31 USD for US wire transfers, outgoing fee to US based accounts is $22.50).
- $25 fee for accounts that are inactive for six months with a balance under $1,000.
Since inactive accounts are not being monitored by the account owner they pose a higher risk for fraudulent activity and have to be dealt with in a timely manner. If you don’t process a transaction semi-annually we’ll mail you a letter notifying you your account has become inactive and will request you to log into your account and process a transaction. Once this is complete we’ll remove your inactive status. Easy peasy!
To make a deposit to your Hubert account you have two options.
- Sign into your Hubert Online account and click on the ‘Transfer Funds In’ tab in the left hand menu. Follow the prompts to initiate the transfer. Remember, you will only be able to transfer funds from accounts that we’ve verified.
- Send us your deposit using good old-fashioned snail mail. Simply mail us a cheque that’s payable to yourself and has your Hubert account number written on the back of the cheque (so we know where to deposit the funds).
You can mail cheques to:
233 Main Street
To transfer funds to one of your external accounts, we’ll need verify it first.
We’ll add the first external account to your transfer list for you using the information on your initial cheque deposit. This will give you the ability to complete transfers online to and from that account. You can link up to 30 external accounts but both active and deleted accounts are included in this limit.
You can add additional transfer accounts directly through Hubert Online by following these easy steps:
- On the left hand menu select ‘Manage Transfer Accounts’.
- Click ‘Add Account’ and enter the bank, transit, and account number for the account you’d like to add. In the next few days, Hubert will make a small deposit to the entered account.
- When you know the amount of the deposit, log into Hubert Online and access the ‘Manage Transfer Accounts’ menu option. Simply enter the amount for the newly added account and you’re done! You are now set up to transfer funds.
Our bank number is 879 and our transit number is 45967.
If a transfer is entered before 4:00 pm CST on a business day, you’ll start receiving interest that same day. If a transfer is entered after 4:00 pm CST on a business day, holiday, or weekend, you’ll start earning interest the next business day. A transfer-in can take up to three to five days to be debited from your external account.
Yes! Please fill out the automatic transfer form and mail it to Hubert Financial to set up an automatic transfer.

You will only be able to transfer funds to an account in your transfer accounts list that we’ve verified and approved for transfers. Transfers can take up to three to five business days to arrive at your external account.
